| At the Allston Branch Public Library what's in the tall narrow display case?... |
[19 Jul 2008|04:20am] |
At the Allston Branch Public Library what's in the very very tall very very narrow display case by the window on the left?... as you walk to the back of the reference books reading room not going through the doors to the art gallery.
Is it some kind of architectural exhibit?... it should be lit from the inside but the power cord isn't plugged in, it's ironic the librarians haven't any information !

I cant sleep and Im starting to get desperate.
Im looking for a room with utilities to not excede 650 that will accept my sleepy cat and my small caged snake.
I know its late in the season but my friend fell thru on living together.
I just need to be close to the train, prefer brighton or JP and a washer/dryer in the building would be awesome.
B0st0n, are there any places i should look OTHER than CL?

| Boston area therapist |
[18 Jul 2008|07:44pm] |
I'm looking to find a therapist, ideally in the Back bay or Beacon Hill area. Can anyone help me out?
This person should accept blue cross insurance. I am working through a family death, so if the person specialized in grief that would be extra good.
Thanks so much!

| Seeking club/bar recommendations |
[18 Jul 2008|11:49am] |
|
Hello all. My friend is turning 21 this Monday 7/21/08 and I'd love to take her out. She's spending the day at Foxwoods but will be home in time to have a good night out. I was thinking of taking her to Fire and Ice for dinner and drinks, but I was wondering if anyone knew any nearby clubs that we could go to afterwards. We'd be taking the T in since I am neither confident enough to drive in Boston sober or bold enough to add alcohol to the mix, even in small amounts. Are there any clubs that still have a "young" crowd, but a little more dressed up? (ie she wouldn't look out of place wearing a short cocktail dress). Sorry if this is all of info. to ask for but any sort of recommendation would be appreciated. I'm not a frequent Boston traveler so my knowledge is pretty limited, not to mention Google/Yahoo/etc only offers so many first hand reviews.

| Long shot- LOST ENVELOPE |
[18 Jul 2008|11:48am] |
I know this is an exceedingly long shot, but I'd be an idiot not to try.
My sister is in town and we went down to Back Bay/Newbury St/Prudential and then onto the B-line at Hynes. Along the way, she lost her envelope with her travel money. It's in a TCF bank envelope. We've called the T and Trident, where she pulled it out, but no luck yet. I figure it's unlikely someone will turn it in, but we've got to try. We're offering a reward so you can get money and assuage that pesky conscience. Again, long shot, but I'm trying here.
Thanks.

| DRUMMER WANTED: The Murder (Boston Punk Rock 'n' Roll) |
[18 Jul 2008|11:08am] |
Rock & Roll Dreams Can Come True
The Murder seeks a professional, proficient and dedicated drummer to join our ranks.
The right candidate will be over 21, have their own transportation and own equipment (We do have a house kit for practice/recording, but it is not broken down for shows). Must be dedicated, willing to practice 1 - 2 times a week in Mission Hill (Roxbury) MA, and play anywhere from 3 - 6 shows a month. We also plan on embarking on weekend sints to neighboring states in the Northeast in the very near future, and longer 1 - 2 week tours within the next year.
Pluses include prior band, touring and/or recording experience. A passport is also a big plus.
We've been told we sound like Social Distortion mixed with The Clash. We agree. We have been playing together as a unit for a little over a year, although we have a combined 20+ years experience in other bands. To date, The Murder has been featured in a full page spread in the Boston Herald, as well as gotten positive press in The Weekly Dig, The Noise and Cheap Thrills, among other publications.
We just self-released our debut CD, which is currently available at local record shops, Amazon.com and iTunes, and are seeking wider distribution. We've played gigs at The Middle East Downstairs, Great Scott and many other established Boston venues.
If you would like more information, or would like to set up an audition, please contact me (Dave) at 1 (617) 290-3463 or by replying to this post.
